Before Cupping

Optimal Preparation:

For best results, ensure your stomach is empty by fasting for at least 4 hours before your session. If you have had a light meal, maintain an empty stomach for at least 2 hours before the therapy.

Hydration :

Drink plenty of water the day before your session to ensure you are well-hydrated. Avoid caffeinated beverages like tea or coffee on the day of the treatment.

Consent Form:

A short Consent Form must be completed and signed before your session.

Medical Conditions and Medications :

Inform the practitioner about any medications or supplements you are currently taking. Certain medications, such as blood thinners, may require special considerations. If you have existing medical conditions, consult your primary care physician before undergoing Hijama.

Illness or Discomfort:

If you are feeling unwell, have a fever, or suspect an infection, inform your practitioner before proceeding with the session.

Personal Hygiene:

It is recommended to shower and be in a state of wudu (ablution) before your session.

Clothing:

Wear comfortable clothing. Hijama is typically performed on the back, so loose-fitting attire is ideal.

After Cupping

Healing Process :

Circular marks from the treatment usually fade within 24–48 hours, depending on individual healing rates. Scabs may form around the treated area, causing mild itching. Apply vitamin E oil, olive oil, coconut oil, or black seed oil to aid healing and avoid scratching the area.Rest and Relaxation:

Avoid stress and allow yourself time to rest if needed. Hijama often has a calming effect, so prioritizing relaxation after the session can enhance its benefits.

Stay Active :

While you may feel relaxed or sleepy after Hijama, it is important to stay lightly active for at least 2 hours post-session to enhance circulation and recovery.

Avoid Physical Strain :

Refrain from intense physical exercise or intimate relationships for 24 hours after your session.

Sun Exposure :

Avoid direct sunlight or tanning on the treated areas for at least 48 hours to prevent irritation or discoloration.

Dietary Recommendations :

Avoid milk, cheese, or other dairy products, as well as excessively spicy or greasy foods, for 24 hours after Hijama. Instead, drink plenty of water, consume raw fruits and vegetables, and minimize processed foods to support detoxification.

Monitor for Reactions :

Mild redness or sensitivity in the treated areas is normal. However, if you experience unusual discomfort or prolonged irritation, contact the practitioner for guidance.

Follow-Up Care :

Plan a follow-up session based on your practitioner’s advice. Regular treatments may be needed for chronic conditions or specific health goals.
